Executive Director

The executive director is the chief staff officer of the association, overseeing daily management. The association executives at SBI Management Services possess the requisite education, training, and experience to manage your organization. As a client, you will be assigned an association executive and support team who have the knowledge, skills, and tools to support your organization and its membership. With support from SBI, your leaders can do what they do best - lead.

Board of Directors

A Board of Directors provides guidance to the organization and its executive director. SBI works with your Board by providing services that include:

• Preparing and distribute meeting agendas
• Creating ballots and facilitating elections
• Preparing board reports
• Attending board meetings
• Taking and distributing minutes
• Preparing and distributing financial reports
• Preparing annual calendars
• Maintaining archives
• Developing policy and procedure manuals

• Supporting task force activities

Committees & Chapters

SBI helps you develop leadership capability within your association's committees and chapters by 1) cultivating and maintaining strong leaders, 2) implementing practices that reflect their leadership styles, 3) ensuring that their decisions comply with the policies and bylaws of your association.

SBI also provides direct support to your committees and chapters. We facilitate in-person and teleconferenced meetings, agenda development, minute-taking, and document control. We also verify that committees and chapters operate in a way consistent with your nonprofit tax status.

Ethics

When it comes to ethical operations, nonprofits are held to a high standard of conduct. Members and beneficiaries rely on nonprofits to set the right example. The lack of ethical leadership and illegal (or "borderline legal") activities can harm an association's image for years to come and may even result in the revocation of a license. It is critical to understand which side of the law any given action will fall on - especially when operating in "gray areas."
