Need Association Management? Consider These Questions

Association management companies are able to provide services at an excellent value for two simple reasons: shared resources and efficient staff.  Because our only specialty is the management of associations, our expertise gives our clients a leg up in best practices and solid technologies. To know if association management would benefit your organization, consider this:

Is your current office professional and well run?

It is important that your association portray the professionalism that your members aspire to. Is communication with members handled professionally and efficiently? Do sponsors see you are an organization they want to participate with?

Are you proud of your website?

It is no long acceptable to have an amateurish web site, manual application processes, and out dated messages on your web site. It is your main line of communication, and if it is not looking good, neither is your organization.

Are you confident in your financial reporting and timely filing of required documents?

Your SBI association executive monitors all financial transactions. SBI's internal bookkeeping department and external CPA oversight protect your finances. SBI provides monthly financial reporting as well as other budgeting and planning assistance.

Does your board have the information they need to make good decisions?

SBI is fortunate to have many client experiences we have learned from. We prepare our boards with excellent financial and membership reports monthly. Our executive team is available as you need it to assist the Board in strategic decisions.

How can SBI help to grow and sustain my membership?

SBI reduces the administrative and clerical work done by your volunteers and Board, freeing them to set and achieve your organization's goals.  SBI insures that renewals, new member information, and marketing materials are managed professionally and on time.  We manage over 100 meetings per year- it is an area of expertise. We know how to foster a quality meeting and support members with the networking environment they need.

How does SBI charge for their work?

We foster long term relationships with our clients (some for over twenty years) utilizing a defined retainer fee schedule. We work with you to develop a detailed Scope of Services, and charge you a flat rate on a monthly basis. You are billed directly- and at cost for postage, paper and supplies. Annually our agreements are reviewed and clarified as needed. Hidden and unexpected fees do not grow relationships. You don’t like surprises and we work hard to avoid unexpected fees.

How can I learn more about your services?

We appreciate that making a change in your management is a very important decision. It takes time and a lot of hard work for leadership to confront your current situation and decide to look at alternatives.

First of all, know that you can begin a conversation and know that it will be kept in the strictest of confidence. It takes some organizations months or years to make a change- we appreciate the delicate nature of these conversations and we honor that.

Basically we will ask you questions and learn about your needs and current problems. If we think our company can support your organization, we will prepare a proposal explaining our services and quoting a monthly retainer fee.  Oftentimes leaders will come to visit our office and meet our staff.

We know that we are not a good fit for all groups. As we only seek out long term relationships, if we don’t think we can support you, we will suggest other options that may be a better fit.
